Marty Robbins – by BR

Marty RobbinsMarty Robbins was a singer and NASCAR driver. He sang all kinds of different styles of music. My favorite song is “I Walk Alone.” It is called “I Walk Alone.” because Mr. Robbins had open heart surgery. He was the 12th person to have this dangerous surgery.  The doctor told him that he had to stop touring as much and to stop racing. But he did not like to be told what to do, so he doubled his touring schedule and raced every weekend he could. During this time, he wrote a song called “A White Sport Coat (And A Pink Carnation)”. This song made the white sport coat with a flower in the button hole fashionable.
