The first two I took of them on the back portico – the first Adams style portico in Colonial America. The rest are taken by Andrew in the front yard (facing the river) or along the nature trail.

The tree line was part of the vast rice fields that once surrounded the house. Hampton Island (what you are looking at) is a man made island. Slave labor dug out the cypress swamp to make fields and a wide canal attached to the Santee River.
