I wonder…

These questions are what the Inclusive Atrium strives to answer.
By centering Jesus and his most prominent theme – the Kingdom of God, children are given a foundation that is able to support all the questions of the teen years bring.
By centering the child, the innate needs of the child are spoken to in a slow-paced, individualized way which allows for adaptation for cultural, emotional, physical, and neurological diversity.
Children learn about the life of Jesus, what they will see in community worship, and Jesus’ parables. Encircling this is the community who all pray, laugh, and work together.
The Inclusive Atrium team is housed at Parkside in downtown Charleston.
There are four Montessori-centered learning groups in the Parkside Inclusive Atrium:

Who are you Jesus?
This toddler is beginning the exploration of Jesus’ special meal with his friends. She listened to the scripture reading and moved Peter and John to set up for the meal. She brought Jesus and the other disciples to the room, Jesus offered his friends the Last Supper. After we sing a song together, she leads the group to take a nap while Jesus prays.
